First and second kind paraorthogonal polynomials and their zeros

Given a probability measure μ with infinite support on the unit circle ∂D = {z : |z| = 1}, we consider a sequence of paraorthogonal polynomials hn(z, λ) vanishing at z = λ where λ ∈ ∂D is fixed. We prove that for any fixed z0 6∈ supp(dμ) distinct from λ, we can find an explicit ρ > 0 independent of n such that either hn or hn+1 (or both) has no zero inside the disk B(z0, ρ), with the possible e...

Resonance of fractional transfer functions of the second kind

where (ai, bj) ∈ R, ν is the commensurable differentiation order,mB and mA are respectively numerator and denominator degrees, with mA > mB for strictly causal systems. Stability of fractional differentiation systems is addressed in the following theorem. Theorem 1.1. (Stability Matignon (1998)). A commensurable transfer function with a commensurable order ν, as in (4), with T and R two coprime...

Monotonicity of zeros of Jacobi polynomials

Denote by xn,k(α, β), k = 1, . . . , n, the zeros of the Jacobi polynomial P (α,β) n (x). It is well known that xn,k(α, β) are increasing functions of β and decreasing functions of α. In this paper we investigate the question of how fast the functions 1 − xn,k(α, β) decrease as β increases. We prove that the products tn,k(α, β) := fn(α, β) (1− xn,k(α, β)), where fn(α, β) = 2n2 + 2n(α + β + 1) +...

LINEAR ESTIMATE OF THE NUMBER OF ZEROS OF ABELIAN INTEGRALS FOR A KIND OF QUINTIC HAMILTONIANS

We consider the number of zeros of the integral $I(h) = oint_{Gamma_h} omega$ of real polynomial form $omega$ of degree not greater than $n$ over a family of vanishing cycles on curves $Gamma_h:$ $y^2+3x^2-x^6=h$, where the integral is considered as a function of the parameter $h$. We prove that the number of zeros of $I(h)$, for $0 < h < 2$, is bounded above by $2[frac{n-1}{2}]+1$.

Distribution of the Zeros of the Generalized Euler Polynomials of Second Kind

In this paper, we observe the behavior of complex roots of the generalized Euler polynomials Ẽn(x) of the second kind, using numerical investigation. By means of numerical experiments, we demonstrate a remarkably regular structure of the complex roots of the generalized Euler polynomials Ẽn(x) of the second kind. Finally, we give a table for the solutions of the generalized Euler polynomials Ẽn...
